Online Games – Having Fun While Being Safe

When I discovered a while back that you could play games for free online, I was excited. I could finally play games without having to spend my money on things that came in a box and may of may not have been very fun. As I looked around, I realized that many games are definitely NOT safe for kids, or even adults with a sense of morality. I looked around for a while and found that some game websites themselves displayed non kid-safe advertising on their website. I decided to write this article to show people what games are safe and fun online.

One of these games is Bloons. It is completely safe with no bad content, language, or violence. All it involves is a kind of puzzle game where you are a monkey try to pop all the balloons. I then decided I would look at other games by the same company. The Bloons Tower Defense games were a let down. They have swearing and harsh language that comes up at the bottom of the screen while you are playing. I also found that the Ninja Kiwi website was one of those with bad advertising. Therefore I found a website that hosted the game without all the bad advertising.

The next fun game is Cat With Bow Golf. The game is extremely fun and challenging. You are a cat trying to shoot a bow at the targets like in golf. The animations with the cat are funny as it flops around. All around it is an excellent game.

Two more games I like that are safe are Indestructo Tank 2 and Xeno Tactic. At first I was cautious because o the violence in these games. Then I realized that violence wasn’t the main focus, but strategy was. In Xeno Tactic you build turrets to destroy the enemy aliens before they reach the exit. In Indestructo Tank 2 you guide an indestructible tank through three different types of game play, destroying enemy airplanes in the process. Although these games are good, the Armor games website is definitely not a safe place, but Online Game Squad is.

Finally I think that all online Sonic and Mario Games are good. They usually are too representative of the original games to be bad.

As far as a good games website where you can find all these games, try Safegames [http://www.safegames.ofingo.com]. It has all the games mentioned above and more safe games that are thoroughly reviewed for

Make Extra Income Playing Online Games

The progression of making real money from online gaming has developed into a full blown market of official businesses. In the past, doing something productive and getting ahead financially were mutually exclusive of video gaming but nowadays, a Google search online for buying gold or items in a certain game will result in a number of reputable sites through which trading and payment mediums can be done safely and cost effectively. This goes to show the increasing demand of gamers out there who have a surplus of real money but who are either too lazy & impatient or unskilled in the game such that they need to exchange real money for virtual cash & items. I know that especially in the Asian gaming communities, rich parents will make their kids study hard… followed by letting them play hard! A $50 sword from a video game is the same to the parents as a $50 item from a toy store as long as it makes their kids happy. And to the young slayer of demons and dragons, that virtual sword means a lot more than a GI Joe (or similar traditional toy that you’d have to play with using your own imagination.) For the rest of the business savvy individuals who love to game and are good at it, this opens up a new window of opportunity in that successes in the virtual world can be transferred into the real world.

How does one go about becoming a profitable gamer? Here are a few initial steps; while some may seem fairly basic, many overlook the bare necessities required to maximize their abilities in the gaming world.

1. Get a decent computer & internet connection – An extra 2 minutes in loading times a day translates to over 12 hours in a year. An extra second delay of lag in a game could mean a world of difference in a heated battle. You want your game to run very smoothly and obviously to enjoy the game to its fullest, you’ll want better graphics. If you really can’t afford to upgrade to a better system, I would sacrifice the quality of your graphics so that the gameplay can better flow as this will ultimately get you better results.

2. Choose a game you love to play – In order to actually make it to a point in the game where you aren’t a ‘noob’ you’re looking at investing at least 100 hours of gameplay. By this point, you’d better not be sick of the game but rather more immersed from exploration into the higher levels of the game. My three favourite online games which are undisputedly three of the current top mmorpg’s are WoW, Diablo 3, and Guild Wars, all of which offer intensely detailed graphics, fully interactive environments and comprehensive game play.

3. Setup your workspace – Gaming is now called an “E-sport” in many parts of the world. While its obviously not as physically demanding as a regular sport, injuries are quite common from overplaying or from playing in subpar surroundings. Net cafes in Asia are prime examples of nasty environments that are detrimental to individuals who are exposed too long. There have been several incidents where individuals (probably very unhealthy to begin with) have died from playing a game hours on end with poor ventilation (they are allowed to smoke inside Asian net cafes), lack of nutrition, rest and physical activity. While the previous example was an extreme, other minor injuries, which can still be quite serious, are often a result of a lack of knowledge regarding sitting in front of a computer for too long (ie. Carpal tunnel, vertebrae issues, etc.) I could write an extensive list of issues and resolutions here but we would be going off on a tangent so for a basic crash course on ensuring that you are gaming healthily check out: http://www.wikihow.com/Sit-at-a-Computer and other related sites. Like anything else you do, remember that safety comes first!

4. Coaching and support; Get good at the game – The best part of online games nowadays is the interaction; the ability to play with your friends, form clubs (aka. Guilds/clans/possy’s). Where it was once fairly fun to go off on quests by yourself, a whole new dimension of gameplay, amusement and social interaction now awaits as you and your newfound crew can venture off together. In addition to the fun factor, the ability to be able to share information and to help each other out is an added benefit and is crucial to expanding your knowledge of the mechanics of the game. Online guides and advice are also good and there’s plenty of bits of free resources out there for most games. However, to really optimize your abilities, you might look at shelling out a few extra bucks for some ‘professional’ advice. For most of us who don’t have friends that are game guru’s that can be your personal coach, having a well organized, step by step guide on how to maximize your results can be a very wise investment. Time is money and knowing how to properly execute a certain objective can save you countless hours as well as magnify your bounty. Daneil Chan is an excellent example of a Diablo 3 game guru. His strategy guide provides excellent coverage of advanced methods in the game along with a very detailed but well explained process towards maximizing the gold earned per hour. The more popular games out there will also have their share of guru’s who are trying to make some money but as long as their advice and strategies work and are of value, it’s definitely worth a few bucks out of your pocket so that your better prepared to make the higher returns later on.

5. Selling – One of the most important skills to have in life is to be able to sell – whether it’s a product (real or virtual), an idea, or yourself. In the virtual gaming world, no one really cares about your personality. It all comes down the deal, the bottom line, the cost. Make sure you know the market value of whatever you are trying to sell. This involves doing a bit of research as market conditions based on supply and demand are always changing. Once you have a good idea of what you can get for the item, you need to find your buyers. In game auction houses/marketplaces are obviously the first few places to look on selling items/gold but there are also plenty of reputable sites acting as exchange mediums through which you can list your items. When looking into these different options, don’t just look at what prices items/gold are going for but also the commission costs of the exchange (the costs that the market-maker will take for hooking up the trade). You need to figure out what you get in the end, after commissions (and in some cases tax).

The points above outline the basics of what you need to do to start a career as a gamer. While I cannot personally condone doing this for a living (if we were all gamers, the real world would collapse), I can definitely agree that games are addictively fun but everything needs to be done in moderation. A half day of gaming should have numerous breaks in between and should be preceded or followed by some physical activity to ensure that your physical form does not deteriorate. Remember that your mental and physical state are connected and if your body is going to get lazy, unfit and unhealthy then your focus, reflexes and overall mental health will suffer too. You want to be in peak form day after day for the best results in not just games but in your overall life. Kids m

Why Should There Be More Free Online Games?

Video games are no longer the preserve of geeky computer nerds, as people of all ages and backgrounds are starting to play them. This is understandable to a certain degree, since it is a fun way to spend time, though it is a wonder that video games have taken off in the way that they have considering their price. If you want to purchase one, it can be extremely expensive, so more and more people are turning to the Internet to find free online games. This is definitely the way the industry is moving, as companies seek to reduce piracy and encourage casual gamers to play more frequently.

It therefore makes sense to increase the number of free online games that are available. Everyone has their own taste, which means there needs to be online games which appeal to a wide range of people. Some people like shooting, some people like fantasy, whilst some are more interested in arcade games. The more games there are to choose from online, the more people will be playing them. This is good news for companies that develop these games, especially if they decide to use advertisements to make a profit. People are usually prepared to endure advertisements and product placement if it means they can play for free.

With more free online games available, developers will be forced to improve their products and push the boundaries further to create interesting and challenging games that appeal to a wide range of people. The Internet has made it much easier for amateur programmers to develop their own games, as enthusiasts share their passion and experience with others. Gaming enthusiasts are obviously more aware of what their fellow gamers want from a game than companies whose primary focus is making a profit. Many programmers are not in it for the money, but because they want to create games which people actually want to play.

The Internet has made it so much easier for people to connect with others who have similar interests and this is one of the reasons why people prefer to play online. When you play games online, you can play alongside or against people who are thousands of miles away. There is a real sense of community in the gaming world, as individuals seek to collaborate on gaming projects as well as beat them in competition! It is for this reason that consoles have had to adopt an online feature, since people were keen to connect with fellow gamers.

The vast scale of information and resources available over the Internet means that you don’t really expect to have to pay anything when accessing games or music. This may not be good news for companies that want to generate huge profits by charging you over-the-odds for products and services, but it is of definite benefit to consumers. As a gamer, you can already find a wide range of online games which cost nothing, though there is always room for more, since the more there are, the more people will play.

How to Reduce Lag When Playing Online Games

Playing online games is a lot of fun. Unlike usual computer games or single player experience, online games or multi-player gives a complete new and fun experience to its users every time. However, all this fun can be ruined because of the lag or high-ping.

The lack of smoothness and high frame rates is usually known as ‘Lag’, which hampers the fun experience of playing online games. However, there are various things that you can do to minimize this lag issue, and to fully enjoy your online gaming experience.

1) Check your Computer’s Hardware Specifications:

Lack of CPU power is a prime factor of lag in online gaming. Check for your system’s performance. Make sure that your computer is fully compatible with all the latest games, and it is completely up to date with the latest tools and technologies.

Note that the integrated graphics card is of no use for high-end games – figuratively speaking. You need to have an external graphics card, along with high RAMs and top-notch processors, if you intend to run the latest high-tech games.

2) Check your Internet Connection:

One of the most common reasons of the online lag is the outdated or low-speed internet connection. Make sure to use the high-speed internet connection for better speed, while gaming. There are various types in the Broadband internet connection; always try to use the best one for online gaming.

3) Free up Your Computer’s RAM:

You can also free up your computer’s RAM, before playing online. This will enable your computer to fully concentrate in processing the game, which will eventually make your online gaming experience a more fulfilling one.

4) Defragmentation of the Hard Disks:

Another major cause of the frame rate or the lag issues is because of large hard-drives’ fragmentations. It is necessary to defragment your hard drives every now and then, to ensure that your computer gives you its optimum performance.

5) Firewalls:

Blocking firewalls is another major reason of high-ping or latency problems in the online gaming. If you checked your computer’s hardware specifications and internet connection, and you are completely satisfied with the result, but still, you cannot solve that lag issue, there is a great chance that the blocking firewalls may be the reason of it.

Therefore, it is important to unblock the firewalls for your internet connection, various gaming ports, and your games’.exe files.

6) Operating System:

Operating system can also cause the lag issues when gaming online. Your operating system must be compatible with the requirements of the game. Furthermore, it should be free of any type of viruses, malwares and Trojans, etc.

7) Downloading:

Any type of downloading or uploading should be stopped, when playing online. Otherwise, it will definitely affect the ping.

By performing all the above-mentioned steps, you can definitely reduce lag w
